These Clay Paints are made from naturally occurring clays and come in a range of natural earth tones and textures. They create a warm ambiance and constitute a functional wall treatment that respires with your environment. How to Simulate a
Venetian Stucco Finish
with BioShield Clay Paints
There are two techniques for working with our Clay Paint that will delight everyone from the professional stucco artist to the home deco buff.
The first method is the traditional condensing technique using a trowel or spatula. The paint is applied and burnished with the edge of the tool. The friction and pressure draw the water to the surface and create a level of polish commensurate with the effort. Sand with 120-grit (or finer) sandpaper. The wall can then be enhanced by treating it with BioShield Hardwax #32.
An easier way to simulate this effect (especially for novices) on surfaces such as gypsum board or other smooth surfaces, is to apply several layers of different colors, then sand the paint. For sanding, use 120-grit (or finer) sandpaper. The different color can be brought about by sanding through the various color layers.
The effect is dazzling!
You may also use BioShield Pigment to tint Clay Paints. Antique White creates the strongest effect. Unleash your creativity and add special effects to your walls with BioShield color washes.
